Craft Services: Don't Get Caught With Your Paints Down
Día de las Tazas – Day of the Mugs, Saturday, October 13
The Mexican tradition of sugar skulls is translated onto what is sure to become your favorite mug. Tracesea Slater, an expert on post-fired ceramics decoration, will show you the steps to creating embellishments on ceramics that have already been kiln fired. And she's bringing design examples of sugar skulls (calaveras de azúcar) for you to reinterpret on a mug of your own. A great craft highlighting the traditional imagery of Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. $10 materials fee for this class; mug and all materials provided. This workshop will be held in our Fresh City Lounge (near the west entrance) of the Central Library.
