Celebrate the fourth annual Denver Arts Week, November 5-13, by reading some of the many books about art and artists available from the library! These novels feature artists as main characters, are primarily set in a museum or incorporate art heavily into their plots. Enjoy!

'Reel' People: Musicians

Celebrate the fourth annual Denver Arts Week, November 5-13, by watching some of the many films about art, artists and musicians available from the library! Several film adaptations have been made based on the lives of famous musicians and singers. Which one is your favorite?

It is hilarious that Gary Oldman has two films on this list - and that they are both so different! He has played both Ludwig van Beethoven and Sid Vicious! It is also worth pointing out that Gary Oldman really is playing the piano during some of his scenes in Immortal Beloved and had a baby grand delivered to his hotel room during filming to practice!

Veterans Rock!

On Veteran's Day, we take the time to honor those that have served our country. It is important to remember that these individuals play other valuable roles in our society as well. Among other things, some veterans have gone on to become famous musicians!
