Denver’s oldest and most beloved bookbinding house is opening its doors for a unique, insider’s look at creating and binding books. Tour includes a workshop on making your own hardcover, single-signature book to take home. $15 materials fee (all materials and supplies included). Registration is required. Enjoy this class on making accordion books in the workshop space nestled inside Denver’s oldest bindery. Our paper maven, Gail Lindley, teaches this bookmaking form; you’ll have a backstage view of the workings of a major bookbinding operation and take home a beautiful book you made yourself. $15 materials fee (all materials and supplies included). One woman’s jewelry is another man’s harbinger. Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright wore elaborate brooches to broadcast messages to colleagues and the press during her diplomatic career. Her collection of pins is now the focus of a traveling show and a book from Harper Collins titled Read My Pins. The Denver Art Museum exhibits her collection this month and kicks off the show with a fun Untitled event. Fresh City Life will be on hand to bang out fresh buttons that you can wear to let the world know whether to approach with caution or step up and smile.
