Celebrate Decker Branch Library’s 100th Anniversary – Saturday, July 13

The community is invited to celebrate the Decker Branch Library’s 100th anniversary on Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to noon with children’s activities, live music, refreshments, and more!

This fun-filled morning will include sidewalk chalk drawing, button making, face painting and balloon sculpting with Miss Abbie. Pianists Dee Netzel and Shieko Uno will be performing classical and popular music of the early 1900s. For the history buffs out there, we’ll have a beautiful display of historical photos, and you may even run into Sarah Decker herself!

Ribbon cutting and public reception: At 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, Mayor Michael B. Hancock and JPMorgan Chase President Todd Munson will officially open the exhibit.

The King Center Imaging Project Exhibit consists of hundreds of digitally preserved speeches, sermons and correspondence of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be on public view at the Denver Central Library from May 14 - 28, 2013, as part of an unprecedented effort to showcase the work of the civil rights leader.
