This art form has an illustrious history. There are Chinese examples of collage technique dating to 200 A.D. In 10th century Japan it became a staple in the work of calligraphers. And Medieval European artists used it to great effect. The word 'collage' was attached to the technique during the period in which artists such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and other modernists utilized it extensively. For our workshop, Emma Ginsberg, artist and collage/mixed media expert, will demonstrate all the right moves for collage success.
