One woman’s jewelry is another man’s harbinger. Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright wore elaborate brooches to broadcast messages to colleagues and the press during her diplomatic career. Her collection of pins is now the focus of a traveling show and a book from Harper Collins titled Read My Pins. The Denver Art Museum exhibits her collection this month and kicks off the show with a fun Untitled event. Fresh City Life will be on hand to bang out fresh buttons that you can wear to let the world know whether to approach with caution or step up and smile.
You'll be guided through the mysteries of checking gauge and how to pick a project and match the correct needles and yarn. Learn basic pattern reading skills along with a review of knit, purl, and binding off. Increasing, decreasing, and yarn overs will also be covered. Bring yarn and needles to practice your new skills. Join the Granny Square fever! Learn to make the classic Granny Square, and expand your crochet repertoire. Learn to crochet in a circle and expand on that to make your square. For people who know basic crochet stitches. Please bring: worsted weight yard and size "H" or "J" crochet hook. A multicolored ball of yard, or 2-3 different colors of yarn will make your square more interesting.
