An exhibit honoring and remembering the legacy of "Daddy" Bruce Randolph, community advocate and restauranteur. November 23rd marks the 50th Anniversary of the Thanksgiving food giveaway that Daddy Bruce started, helping feed over 10,000 families in need. The first 25 years of this tradition Daddy Bruce cooked meals on Thanksgiving day donating his time and money. The Denver Feed a Family program of the Epworth Foundation continues the work of Daddy Bruce giving away Thanksgiving baskets every year.
Local photographer Roger Whitacre began shooting images of Denver in the 1970's. This exhibit contains images of buildings that either vanished from the landscape during the final decades of the twentieth century or, as in the case of Union Station, altered their appearance. Whitacre's black and white images document a vanished Denver.
Exhibit of images created by Roger Whitacre of vanished Denver buildings. Whitacre is a local photographer who has documented Denver's residents and their built environment beginning in the 1970s.
*Exhibit has been extended until January 12, 2015.
