Photographs by Juliette Villard of the Brest American Football Team and images of Brest during WWI and WWII. Brest became Denver's sister city. The library and citizens of Denver sent children's books to Brest after it was destroyed by Allied bombing during WWII.
Arise! is an eclectic show of local and international artists raising up their voice for those that are helpless to do so themselves. The show has two goals: first to create awareness and educate the community about human trafficking and the local programs aimed at prevention and rescue and the second to issue a call of action to our community. The Cousins Gallery will host a traveling educational exhibit that includes an extensive collection of comic books, comic strips, action figures, buttons, statues, trading cards, posters, and original art, curated by Comic Book Professor William H. Foster III.
The African American Quilters and Collectors Guild of Denver (AAQ&CG) will exhibit authentic slave quilts in the 3rd floor Cousins Gallery. Themed "The Civic Minded Woman", this exhibit continues the annual Table of Brotherhood celebration in honor of the MLK Holiday festivities. AAQCG is committed to serving the Rocky Mountain Front Range region in the preservation of quilts and promoting the art of quilting.
