Fresh City Life and Denver Arts and Venues present a spring concert with the Castle Rock Community Ringers. CRCR has dazzled audiences at The Denver Public Library for two seasons. Bringing a fresh perspective and expert touch to the centuries-old art of ringing handbells, CRCR is one of the most sought-after bell choirs in the metro Denver area. Tuned sets of bells were first introduced in 1696 in Europe and migrated to the United States in 1902.
Acclaimed Celtic guitarist Jerry Barlow is a virtuoso musician, a warm and accessible performer, and a world-class storyteller. His repertoire is composed of a synthesis of traditional music from the British Isles and his own original Celtic-inspired compositions. Barlow’s music transports the listener across time and space on an imaginary journey to a rustic Irish fishing village, the misty Scottish Highlands or an enchanted English forest.
Surprisingly inspired by the guitar playing of Slash, Jon Sousa began rocking on the guitar at the age of 11. His musical journey soon took him to the extremes of rock and metal, but not before a radical left turn into the world of electronic dance music production. After moving to Colorado in 2003, Jon fell deeply in love with traditions of fingerstyle guitar.

Colorado violinist Sandra Wong returns to Denver Public Library for this solo concert. No musician makes a violin weep like Sandra Wong; similarly she makes them laugh as well. Bringing a touch of wistfulness to all of her music, Wong will make the great hall ring with joyful noise. Fresh City Life is proud to present this very special solo violin and nyckelharpa concert. http://denverlibrary.org/fresh#world
