Grab some picnic food, your sunglasses and get out on the open road for a scenic jaunt ‘up the hill’ to Central City. Fresh City Life hosts this unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Central City Opera House. Take a special tour of the opera, get a backstage point of view and hear about the upcoming productions. You’ll see a rehearsal in progress and actors perfecting their scenes from either The Marriage of Figaro or Dead Man Walking. Pack a lunch and enjoy the sights and history of Central City. After the tour, you're on your own to have some fun on the town.

We will have fun activities for children and adults: international dance and music performances, artmaking, storytelling, costumes, tours, and more. There will be a children’s craft in Schlessman Hall at the Central Library.

Secret Lives of Owls

This one-hour program takes the audience on an eye opening and fascinating journey as it explores the mysterious lives of the various species of owls found here in Colorado. Throughout the program, audience members will broaden their understanding of these reclusive yet remarkably successful raptors by participating in activities that focus on the awesome adaptations of owls. Live owls are presented during the program.

Fizz, Boom, Hiss, Kerplop!

Did you hear that? What makes that sound? Get up close and personal with some amazing animals with Safari Sally. From invertebrates to reptiles to mammals, have a great time while you learn some amazing facts about these animals. There’s nothing more fun than learning about animals and even getting a chance to touch them and hear what sound they really do make!

Connie Elstun's Super Science Magic Show

Spend an hour with Connie and some members of her hilarious cast as she teaches you how they found out Science is Magic and Magic is Science. This popular program includes incredible magic and hands-on learning. All supplies are provided, and the laughter is free. Good for all ages.
