Celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program with an exclusive after hours party for teens at the library! Teens will have the library all to themselves from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will be food, a scavenger hunt, battleship pong, Xbox/Wii U games, music, prizes and more food! Parental permission is required. The quilts in the exhibit will be on display at the Blair-Caldwell Library Cousins Gallery - Level 3, August 1-28th and will reflect on the 20 year anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild featuring symbolic elements that celebrate the milestone.
On display, June 17 - 28, in the For Cowried Girls exhibition you will view masks and African abstract figures by ceramist Ella Maria Ray, all of which are adorned in some way with cowry shells. Works included in the exhibition are from her Africana Women Emerging, Mud Text-tile and her recent Cowried Girls Series.

"Mother, Mother! will feature multicultural art work from local community artists and Washington, DC, including SA Bennett, Randy McAnulty, Kiyasha Newson, Helen Littlejohn, Arlette Lucero, Stevon Lucero, Ella Maria Ray, Ron Hicks, Rob Yancey and others. All art will feature representations of the Madonna--Mother and Child.
