New York chic meets Los Angeles mod in this wonderfully retro event. Hostess, interior magician and author, Brini Maxwell, famed for her STYLE network show will co-host with the ambassador of Americana: author and humorist Charles Phoenix. The King and Queen of Modern will hold court for one night only – and you’re invited to join the fun. Brini, America’s domestic doyenne, starts off the party by welcoming you into her kitchen to make a cheeseball topiary – you’ll be the envy of all the hippest kids when you debut this showstopping amuse-bouche (French for ‘amusing bush’).

We're having a birthday party and you're invited!

Join us for an open house to celebrate the 1st year anniversary of the Sam Gary Branch in Stapleton on Sunday, August 11th. We'll celebrate with live entertainment by Broke Bridge, family-friendly activities, and of course, cake!

Since opening on August 11, 2012 the branch library has welcomed 195,000 visitors, circulated nearly 750,000 items, and offered 526 programs ranging from storytimes to adult programs with 18,860 attendees. Due to the passing of ballot measure 2A last November, the branch library is now open seven days a week.

One of the most successful exhibits of 2012, exhibit ‘Culinary Chronicles of Blackness’ returns to The Cousins Gallery July 8-July 31, 2013! Culinary Chronicles of Blackness explores the history and culinary DNA of black culture and The African Diaspora. Examining the relationship between black culture and food through the arts, we are now accepting submissions! Since the beginning of our journey to the Americas food has played an important role in our health, our family history and our lives.
