Do you think you know Colorado History? Well learn about the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Colorado history at this great program, presented by the Fairmount Heritage Foundation. Hear stories that didn’t make it into the history books about Speer, Iliff, Lowry, Elitch, and others. This event is happening at the Ross-University Hills Branch on Thursday, August 25 at 6 p.m.

Romance author Cindi Myers will be at Schlessman on Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Myers believes in love at first sight, good chocolate, cold champagne, that people who don't like animals can't be trusted, and that God obviously has a sense of humor. She is the author of over 40 novels. Her latest is Work of Heart. Others include:

The Fresh City Life My Branch Colorado Authors Series presents Steve Friesen on Sunday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schlessman Family Branch.

Mr. Friesen will present a slide show and lecture entitled Buffalo Bill: A Life of Controversy, based on his recently published book Buffalo Bill: Scout, Showman, Visionary. The book is a finalist in the History/Biography category of the soon to be announced Colorado Book Awards.

On Monday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at SchlessmanFamily Branch you can learn how to Outsmarting Investment Fraud. The FINRA Investor Education Foundation will teach you about the basics of safe investing, including questions to ask before making investment decisions, how to verify if an investment product or professional is legitimate, how to identify and report investment fraud, and common fraud tactics and how to avoid them.

Colorado Authors Series Presents: Dr. Chip Colwell-Chanthaphonh

Join Dr. Colwell-Chanthaphonh, Curator of Anthropology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, on Saturday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schlessman Family Branch.

Dr. Colwell-Chanthaphonh will discuss his book Crossroads of Culture: Anthropology Collections at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. He is also the author of other works on Native American anthropology and archaeology. Come find out about his books and the fascinating collections in our own Denver Museum of Nature and Science!

Crafting Through Colorado History...With Bees

What does Fresh City Life My Branch have in store this week, you ask? The answer, as usual, is something for everyone!

The choices for your crafting and educational pleasure this week include:

Felting Fun on Saturday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ross-Broadway Branch. In this introduction to needle felting you'll learn to make a basic chick and a more challenging rabbit. All supplies will be provided, and you'll go home with your own felted critters! Registration is required, call 720-865-0135 or stop by the reference desk to register.

Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History

Join the Fairmount Heritage Foundation on Sunday, March 13, 2 p.m. at the Schlessman Family Branch to celebrate Women's History Month.

Learn about the women, well-behaved and not, who have made history in Colorado. Fairmount volunteers Joan & Garry O'Hara will be your guides for this slide show through the history of Colorado's notable women.
