Drop in on Monday, June 18 at 11 a.m. for our Tech Open House at Ross-University Hills to learn how to load library books on your device as well as any other questions you might have.

DPL's Community Technology Center staff presents eBooks 101 on Thursday, June 14 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Schlessman Family Branch! Bring your device and/or questions, and come during the time when we'll be talking about what YOU need to know:

10:30 a.m. Kindle eBooks

11 a.m. eReaders (Nook, Sony, Kobo, etc.)

11:30 a.m. eBooks on mobile devices (tablets, smartphones)

Mr. Saunders worked at the Rocky Mountain News for 54 years as a copy boy, police reporter, city hall reporter, and feature editor and covered the broadcasting beat as critic and columnist for more than 40 years. In 1993, Saunders was named Colorado Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists. A former president of the Denver Press Club, he's a member of club's Hall of Fame. He currently writes a Monday TV-radio sports column in The Denver Post.

If you want to try out the benefits of yoga but are intimidated by visiting a studio, try it at the library, with Beginning Yoga at the Bear Valley Branch on Tuesday, June 5 at 5:30 p.m. Get your questions about yoga answered, and try it out! Wear clothing that allow for movement, and bring a mat or towel if you have one.

Does your dad get frustrated with tech gadgets? Wish he could use eBooks or navigate the library web site? Steer him towards the Tech Open House at the Ross University Hills Branch on Monday, June 4 from 11 a.m. until noon. Have him bring his gadgets and/or questions, and he'll get one-on-one help from a librarian!

Central City Opera is the 2nd oldest annual professional opera festival in the country, located right here in Colorado! Each summer, they present three productions, including an opera favorite, a lesser known work, and an American work. One of summer 2012's offerings is Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw, based on the novella by Henry James. Set in a 19th century English country house filled with ghosts and mystery, this work is sure to set your spine tingling!

World War Z: The Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks was published in 2007 and is often cited as one of the best zombie novels of the last ten years. The book is a string of first person accounts of various characters around the world and how they remember the zombie outbreaks and following war. There are testimonies from military personnel, intelligence officials, and regular citizens who try to defeat the zombies.
