Did you know there are about 6,500 languages spoken in the world today? The new movie Frozen has been translated into 41 of these languages, and this amazing video shows singers performing the hit "Let it Go" in 25 of them.
Library staff have been blogging in anticipation of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which is celebrated every September 19th. Did you know the Library's language acquisition database, Mango Languages, features Pirate as one of the 60 language courses available to customers?
To accompany their many modern-day languages, Mango Languages recently announced the release of their Religious and Scholarly Language Collection, which includes Latin, Koine Greek, Ancient Greek and Biblical Hebrew.
These specialized courses focus on passages from historical books, poems and religious documents, providing insight into the cultures in which the languages were spoken.
