Blood Drive at Bear Valley

Give the gift of life - donate blood. Each week, Bonfils Blood Center needs more than 4,000 donors to meet the needs of our community and to be prepared in case of an emergency. Give blood on Thursday, January 6, 1:00-6:30 p.m at the Bear Valley Branch Library.

Ever wonder who the Center is named for? Dr. Osgoode Philpott and philanthropist Helen G. Bonfils opened the first blood bank in Colorado on February 27, 1943 at what is now the University of Colorado Hospital. Helen named the Center the Belle Bonfils Memorial Blood Bank, after her beloved mother. In 1954, the name changed to reflect its medically-advanced services and became The Bonfils Blood Center.

The bloodmobile is also going to be at University Hills branch on Friday, Jan. 7 from 1-2:10 and 3:30-6:30 PM.
