Interlibrary Loan & Purchase Suggestions
Didn't find it at DPL? Did you know that items can be delivered from other library systems for your use? Search Prospector or WorldCat to find items the Denver Public Library does not own and place a request. You can also submit a purchase suggestion by filling out a blank request form. For more information see our Interlibrary Loan & Request It FAQs.
Prospector is a combined catalog of more than 30 Colorado and Wyoming libraries and has over 20 million items you may request and have delivered to your local branch. Check the status of your Prospector requests using My Account on our website.
Important notes about Prospector:
Customers who have reached their hold limit in My Account (30 active holds) or have reached the $5 fine limit, are not eligible to place Prospector requests. If you have exceeded your requests or have reached the fine limit, you will see a message that "Your ID is Blocked".
For some customers the pick up branch in My Account is different from the pick up location selected when placing a Prospector request. The item will be sent to the branch you selected in Prospector. This pick up location will be reflected in your hold notification when the item arrives. This is a temporary issue that will be resolved with a future Prospector upgrade.
Use this national and international catalog to search for items not available at the Denver Public Library. You must fill out a one-time Request It registration to place Interlibrary Loan requests.
