After consulting numerous lists and sources, I have compiled a selection, in alphabetical order, of dramatic films for your viewing pleasure featuring strong African-Americans battling inequalities. There are a couple that have long been hard to view but are now available only on Netflix streaming as far as I know:
"Leadbelly" and "Up Tight!"
They are both great in their own way.
I would also add "Sounder"
