Podcasting Information
What is Podcasting? |
|
Podcasting allows a sound file, such as an MP3 file, to be played using your web browser or by using an RSS feed to subscribe to the podcast which will automatically download the sound files to a software player like iTunes. You can then hear the podcast whenever you want from your computer or move it easily to a portable media player. |
How Can I Find DPL's Podcasts? |
The Denver Public Library's podcasting home is http://podcast.denverlibrary.org and will initially feature content intended primarily for children, such as Mother Goose nursery rhymes. We plan to add new and diverse content to our podcasting services in the future. All of these services will be completely free of charge. |
How Do I Listen To Podcasts? |
You may listen to any of the podcasts using the player that is built into our podcast site, or more conveniently, subscribe to our podcasts and have them automatically downloaded to your podcast subscription software each time our podcast page is updated. Please note that you may listen to the podcast from within the Library using headphones, but to subscribe to the podcast you must use your own computer. Some free software player options include iTunes, Juice or Odeo. Once you select and download your software, follow the instructions on how to subscribe to podcasts. The link to DPL's podcast subscription is http://podcast.denverlibrary.org/rss and can be found in the bottom-right corner of our podcast site. After the podcast files are in your software, they can be transferred to your portable music player. |
