Author Event: Zachary Lazar, I Pity the Poor Immigrant, September 12
With his distinctive writing style and a clever sense for blending the lives of fictional characters into the stories of true life, Zachary Lazar is an author for the new century. Denver Public Library is thrilled to host Lazar for an exclusive reading and talk about his most recent novel, I Pity the Poor Immigrant, called 'brilliant' in the New York Times Book Review. Artfully blending the history of mobster, Meyer Lansky, with an eccentric cast of real and imagined characters, Lazar’s novel has been garnering fantastic reviews from readers and critics alike. His debut novel, Aaron, Approximately put him on the map of authors to watch. His second book, Sway, was chosen as the best book of the year by the Los Angeles Times, Publishers Weekly, Newsday and Rolling Stone. Book signing to follow. Lazar’s books will be available to purchase at the event.
