Performance and Presentations

To commemorate Black History Month, the Blair-Caldwell Library and Colorado Humanities invites you to join us in presenting Black History Live with Hasan Davis as "York," the slave who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their expedition. Davis will interact with the audience as York. Join us for this unique way of exploring history.

Chautauquan Performance:
Today, a Chautauquan is a scholar who portrays a significant figure in our history by delivering an unscripted dramatic monologue in costume and in character. Following the presentation and while still in character, the Chautauquan answers audience questions about the life and time of his or her character as the character. This allows the audience to have a conversation with a historical figure. Then the Chautauquan steps out of character to take additional questions from the audience.
