Gregory Hill was raised in Joes, Colorado and currently lives in Denver where he writes, makes music, and, in his spare time, is a worker bee at the DU library. Time magazine critic Lev Grossman says of Hill's debut novel, East of Denver: "This is writing on par with that of top-flight black-comic novelists like Sam Lipsyte and Jess Walter, and it deserves to be read."
