Georgia O’Keeffe Needle Felting- registration opens
Think of needle felting as 'fiber painting.' Instead of a canvas you'll have wool felt; in place of paints – unspun wool, wool scraps and textured fibers; and you'll replace the paintbrush with a tiny-barbed felting needle. It takes just a few minutes to get the concept of how the fibers felt together with quick strokes of your felting needle and you're on your way to making something beautiful.
In this class, we will pay homage to a widely known artist who was able to create simple, yet provocative paintings inspired by her surroundings. Georgia O'Keeffe was a master at staying true to herself as an artist, creating her works from within and trusting her inner voice. Get to know O’Keeffe’s work at the Denver Art Museum exhibition (February 10-April 28). There is power in her style, which compels new generations to fall in love with her work. See what you can learn about your own creativity as we embark on interpreting one of O’Keeffe’s most famous subjects: the poppy. All materials provided.
