Knitting En Pointe: Movie and Knitting Workshop hosted by the Colorado Ballet
We’re excited about our renewed community partnership with the coolest cultural group in the neighborhood – the Colorado Ballet! Together, we’ll be creating wonderful opportunities for you to learn about dance in the city and enjoy the best that the Denver performance scene has to offer.
The Turning Point, 1978
Starring Shirley Maclaine, Anne Bancroft. If you finished knitting your legwarmers, you can wear them to this knit flick and learn how to make a gorgeous swansong headband perfect for prima ballerinas and just staying chic and warm in Colorado. Our film, The Turning Point, tells the story of two professional dancers who take very different paths in life and whose jealousy threatens to destroy their friendship. This film is noteworthy not only for the stellar cast, but for being nominated for the most Academy Awards (eleven) and winning none. If you haven’t finished your legwarmers yet, okay to bring those to work on, too, and Ann Myhre will be our guide for the pre-movie class time. All intermediate knitters (confident in casting on, binding off, decreasing, increasing, knit, purl and basic pattern stitches) will be registered for this workshop. Materials list provided with registration confirmation. To register, go to http://denverlibrary.org/fresh#turning or call 720.865.1206. 119 minutes. Rated PG.
Thursday, January 31, 7:15-10:15p, The Colorado Ballet Academy, 1278 Lincoln Street, Denver, 80203
