Performance and Presentations

You are invited to learn about and celebrate Kwanzaa. This event will feature a performer and light refreshments.

The word "Kwanzaa" comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza," meaning "first fruits." Kwanzaa begins on December 26 and ends with a communal feast called the Karamu on January 1.
Kwanzaa is a seven-day holiday that celebrates Family, Community and Culture. The seven days of Kwanzaa match the seven principles celebrated during the days. These are ideas that triumph the idea of community and individualism.

Monday, December 31st we will explore the principle ~ Kuumba (creativity)
Creativity means to do as much as one can to beautify and make memorable the African American’s community.
