Johnson Legacy, Inc. and the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library Present:
The Language You Cry In, a documentary about a song that connects a family in America to their family in Sierra Leone. This film documents the uniting of two women, Mary Moran of Harris Neck Georgia and Baindu Jabati of Sierra Leone and their families, who are connected by a song passed down to them. As the families come together they are able to see their cultural commonalities. The film shows the African American/ African ties and is a testimony to the fact that African traditions and connections were preserved despite the time and distance between Africa and the Africans that were removed from the land so many years ago.
