About the "who are you, little i" Performers

This is the Denver premier for who are you, little i – an operetta, written by composer David Harris, for soprano, mezzo, tenor and bass vocalists.

Elizabeth Caswell Dyer (soprano)

A native of Minnesota, Elizabeth Caswell Dyer has an MM in Vocal Performance from the University of Miami and was a member of the Palm Beach Opera Workshop Program and Chorus. Known for her ability to perform both soprano and mezzo roles, she appeared with the Palm Beach Opera as both Javotte and Rosette in Manon, Giovanna in Rigoletto and Mrs. Hayes in the Florida professional premier of Susannah among other roles. She’s also performed with the Florida Grand Opera, the Sy Sugar Pops Orchestra, the Coral Gables Symphony, and was a finalist in the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition. Most recently, Elizabeth made her Carnegie Hall debut with Jubilate! Sacred Singers for a charity benefit.

Marta Burton (mezzo-soprano)

Marta Burton’s exceptional gifts as a concert artist have brought her into concert halls and theatres throughout the U.S. and abroad. She has starred with dozens of major orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. Her symphonic performances in A Celtic Celebration: Music of the Emerald Isle and A Celtic Faire: Starring Divine Celtica and Christopher Layer have been described as “hauntingly beautiful, spellbinding and soaring.” She is a leading interpreter of the poetry and songs of Robert Burns and is a frequent guest of the Moab Music Festival. She lives in Denver, Colorado where she both produces and performs in a wide variety of concerts including A Celtic Midwinter, Southern Journey, Amazing Grace: Songs of Faith and Folk and A Celtic Faire, a symphonic pops concert. Her dedication to using music to unite people has led her to create and perform on behalf of the Interfaith Alliance. She will be directing the 2008 Interfaith Music Festival. She also leads The Sojourners, an Ensemble of The Spirituals Project, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the sacred songs called spirituals. She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and received her BA from the University of Wyoming. She is honored to be a long time member of Actors Equity and Phi Beta Kappa. David Harris (tenor and composer)

David Harris

David Harris (b. 1974), BSE, MM, DMA, has worked with choral and instrumental groups for more than 15 years. He is artistic director, a founding member, soloist and composer for Jubilate in Boulder, Colorado. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, David moved to Colorado in 2001. David is an active composer and arranger and writes primarily for the voice. Over the past six years as composer and arranger for Jubilate, David has performed and recorded a number of pieces. Upcoming performances include Ascendit Deus, to be performed on October 12 at the 2008 Boulder A Cappella Festival and his 2007 operetta, who are you, little i. In addition to performing every week with Jubilate, David often serves as a clinician and fulfills composition commissions throughout the year. He is a current member of the American Composers Forum. David holds degrees from the Universities of Alabama, Oklahoma and Colorado. See davidharrismusic.net for more details.

Lukas Graf (baritone)

Lukas Graf is currently studying at the University of Colorado and near the completion of a dual MM in Choral Conducting and Voice Performance. Most recently he prepared the role of El DanCaïro in Bizet’s Carmen sung with the Intermountain Opera in Bozeman, Montana. Previously at CU, he performed the roles of Owen Hart in the collegiate premiere of Dead Man Walking by Jake Heggie, Diesel in West Side Story, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Dr. Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro, Judas in the St. Matthews Passion and Sam in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti. He conducted a select ensemble in a performance of Faure's Requiem in a combined conducting and voice recital in April of 2008.
