White House Kitchen Confidential: The President’s Table with Author Barry Landau
Monday, February 25, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Central Library, Level B2 Conference Center
The President’s Table: Two Hundred Years of Dining and Diplomacy is a lavishly illustrated history of Presidential dining from George Washington to George W. Bush. Presidential historian Barry Landau brings the back story of the American Presidency to life, interweaving stories of dining and diplomacy with a spellbinding narrative from the early days of provincial entertaining in the capital, through the golden era of state banquets, to the modern White House dinners of today.
From the ABC News article From Nixon to Bush, He's Met Them All:
"Few have succeeded so well in mingling with the famous without becoming famous himself. Like a true insider, his office has a wall of inscribed photographs of presidents from Richard Nixon to George W. Bush, of Herbert Hoover and J. Edgar Hoover, of an inaugural ball in which Landau stands on a stage along with Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and many others."
