The MEDLINE and PubMed databases provide two different ways to search the same collection of 13 million articles collected by the National Library of Medicine. Many hospital libraries assist the public in using these complex resources, and other professional resources, as well. Contact a medical library for assistance.

Available in library or from home with library card.MEDLINE from DPL's FirstSearch database. Requires login with a Denver Public Library card. Full text of some of these articles are available. See Journal Articles to learn how to get complete articles. For those that DPL does not have, get assistance with your search or place an InterLibrary Loan request.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine’s premiere search system for health information.  It searches the same articles as MEDLINE, but it is free on the Internet and does not require a library card.
