NOAH New York Online Access to Health, is a bilingual site (English and Spanish), good for beginners, but including in-depth resources too. Click Health Topics or use a Word Search.

Mayo Clinic This site contains some advertising, and some areas only available for registered users (free), but worth it for the many good articles from Mayo Clinic staff.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Researching the effectiveness of many types of non-traditional medicine, and providing the results to the public and professionals.

Rose Medical Center provides many patient education resources. Click on Health Information and explore. The Patient Education Guides include Pain Management, A Patient's Guide to Chemotherapy, and much more. There is also a Heart Center and many resources for staying healthy.

Drugs and Medicine

Drugs, Supplements, and Herbal Information from MedlinePlus Provides information about generic and brand-name drugs, as well as herbs and supplements.

DailyMed enables you to look up and print label information for FDA-approved drugs. You can be notified every time new information is added. The site also provides information about how to report negative side-effects of drugs.

Pill Identification from the National Library of Medicine.

Drug Look-up Reference Identify pills you find by color, shape, and markings.

International Drug Information Resources from the National Library of Medicine.

Drugs.com These folks have added the PDR to their drug database and you can find any of over 26,000 drugs and meds listed there. Includes a conditions search, an interactions checker, pill identifier, and an image search. Some resources require registration.

The Florence G. Strauss Complementary and Indigenous Medicine Collection at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center. Healing traditions from around the world are gathered in this collection of books, journals and links to many quality web sites.

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine researches the effectiveness of many types of non-traditional medicine.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Integrative Medicine's evidence-based herbs & botanicals database.

Alternative Health News Online Latest health news - both alternative and traditional, plus 5 top medical search engines.

WholeHealthMD Health and wellness issues and specific alternative medicine solutions. Information is developed by a team of leading board-certified doctors and specialists. This site includes a brief introduction to many Alternative Therapies.

Alternative Medicine Foundation Provides evidence-based information on integrating alternative and conventional medicine. Both free and fee-based services.

Herb Research Foundation Comprehensive information. Includes a photo gallery, up-to-date research articles, and much more.
