Artie is a lion. Julie is a rabbit. Both of them have to learn how to survive in the grasslands. Arrtie's dad teaches him how to walk quietly and roar loudly so he can catch rabbits. Julie's dad teaches her how to jump high and fast and listen for little sounds so she can escape lions. Neither Artie nor Julie really wants to learn these lessons; they'd rather play. When Artie and Julie are caught in a storm on the grassland, they discover that they would rather be friends than enemies. The pages of this book are cut in half so that each character's story is going on simultaneously until they are together.
