Billy Lynn, a 19 year-old soldier, is a newly-decorated war hero home from Iraq for a "victory tour" with other survivors from his U.S. Army squad. These brave young men are to appear in the halftime show at the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game. But the day is not all full of dignity, honor, or reflection. There are funny, raunchy, shocking, and poignant moments thrown in, too. (Probably helped by the abundant food and alcohol flowing to the soldiers and everyone else!) This really enjoyable book is one to reflect on with its observations about civilians, soldiers, families, relationships, Iraq, professional athletes, and superstars. I recommend it!
