Review

Working again with Richard Swift, Jurado continues leave his folky singer/songwriter past for psychedelic pop and rock.  I've been going to see Jurado play for almost 15 years now and never could I have imagined his level of creativity keeping up for this long, but this is one of the best releases of his career.  Everything feels freer and looser both on the recording and at live shows.  Not only is he an underappreciated songwriter (as I blogged about awhile back) but we are now seeing how much of incredible musician he is with a fine ear for arrangement.  See a trailer for the album here.
