This notably well-written book offers the reader a behind-the-scenes look at the medical profession, offering at times a perspective the reader may occasionally find distressing, yet incredibly thought-provoking. Not simply a true life horror tale, Atul Gawande also challenges the effectiveness and the bounds of medicine with enthralling and engrossing ideas that affect those of the medical profession, and those under its knife.
