Finishing School is one of my favorite new YA series. This second entry in the series is a potent blend of Victorian steampunk, fantasy and humor. It follows the exploits of one Sophronia Tremminnick, aged 14 and a trainee at Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. Mme. Geraldine's acts as a front to train these young ladies of quality in the art and science of espionage. Things are getting more complicated in this second volume, and our heroine Sophronia is forced to stay on her toes as evil forces converge on her school and her friends. Well done and highly recommended.
