This Christmastime romance contains three novellas: Home for Christmas, All I Want for Christmas, and Gabriel's Angel.  In Home for Christmas, globe-trotting reporter Jason returns to his small-town home with the hopes of winning back the heart of his high school sweetheart.   All I Want for Christmas is the story of a special Christmas wish-identical twins Zeke and Zach ask Santa for a new mom!  They decide that their music teacher, Miss Davis, is just the right person, too.  Now, all they need to do is convince their dad! Gabriel's Angel is the final and longest novella in the collection.  In it, Gabriel finds the solitude of his mountain cabin disturbed by a very stranded, very pregnant young woman-and she's hiding a secret!

I enjoyed the idea of this book more than I enjoyed reading it.  While the storylines are sweet and definitely full of good Christmas feelings, I found the emphasis on a very narrow and stereotypical image of female beauty to be unnecessary and unrealistic. And while Nora Roberts seems to be trying to subvert traditional gender roles (the heroine in Gabriel's angel is adamant that she doesn't need a man to rescue her), she doesn't quite manage it. Maybe a more nontraditional romance is what I need!
