"The man and black fled across the dessert... And the gunslinger followed."

So begins the first, and frankly the best, book of Stephen King's epic Dark Tower seven book series. In a bizarre mash up that's part Lord of the Rings and part Spaghetti Western, King has created an alternate desolate wasteland world populated with mutants, ghosts, and robots. There is a sickness slowly eating away at the world. But one man is trying to set things right. In order to cure the world, the gunslinger must travel to the heart of the dark tower that lies at the nexus of all realities. The journey is long and treacherous. The gunslinger will overcome many obstacles and endure great suffering to complete his quest. But is he willing to sacrifice the life of an innocent child in name of the Dark Tower?
