Melkorka is an Irish princess around the year 900. The Norse and the Vikings keep raiding and attacking Irish kingdoms and Melkorka must flee to avoid a marriage to a savage Viking. On her way to safety, Melkorka is grabbed by slave traders and taken aboard a ship bound for the slave markets of the Far East. At first she is too afraid to speak to the other slaves or her captors, but soon she realizes that her silence gives her power. By keeping silent, and learning to listen to others, Melkorka finds a strength in herself she never knew she had. This exciting princess tale explores the entire Western world of the 900s.
