Review

As a teen, I became obsessed with Jeeves and Bertie Wooster novels by P.G. Wodehouse. I spent a happy summer reading them and continue to dip into one on occasion when I need to buck up a bit, as Bertie would say. The absurdist style is wonderful and unique, and I would have thought it could not be successfully re-created. However, Sebastian Faulks has done a bang up job of recreating the Wooster world, including the hilarious slang, the absurd plots, and the amusing by-play between Bertie and Jeeves. This is an absolutely topping read for fans and newcomers alike. Highly recommended.
