The Librarian of Basra is a true story of a brave woman named Alia Muhammad Baker who saves her library collection in the war-stricken country of Iraq. Alia runs the local library and saves 30,000 books when war threatens their destruction. Unfortunately, she is not able save the library itself, which was the hub of the community. The sweet story demonstrates how a love of books is universal and people will go to heroic lengths to preserve the stories they tell.
