This is a fascinating story about a brilliant and eccentric British scientist who got hooked on China and went on to write an encyclopedia on the history of science in that country. Read this book to learn about the many adventures and accomplishments of Joseph Needham and to learn about China, past and present. Simon Winchester knows how to tell a good story.
