by Tom Waits
Review
Real Gone has everything you'd expect from a Tom Waits record. Tom's wife and collaborator, Kathleen Brennan, once classified his musical styles as either Grim Reapers or Grand Weepers, and both are in evidence here. But most striking on Real Gone are the hints of modern musical influences, and even a political anti-war song, the beautiful "Day After Tomorrow".
