Review

Ripley Under Ground is the second book in a five part series written by Patricia Highsmith.  That being said, it is not a requirement to have read the first one as the author quickly recaps the important events.  The main character, Thomas Ripley, is a dark, maniacal man who gets himself into criminal enterprises to maintain his luxurious lifestyle.  He has no qualms committing crimes that I will not reveal because it would spoil the book.

This book is a good read.  The author does a wonderful job developing the characters and the plot while keeping the pace nice and brisk.  Thomas Ripley is created so wholly that you find yourself completely understanding why his actions seem logical to him.  As he gets himself into sticky situations, you begin to wonder how he will ever get himself out of them.  Pick up this book and find out if he can.
