Review

I was pleasantly surprised by this one - I picked it up on a whim, intrigued by the Denver setting more than anything else, and it way exceeded all my expectations!  Filled with fun, interesting, eccentric characters (they are often too good to be true, but what the heck, that's why we read fiction, right?), the author provides them with snappy, contemporary dialogue.  The push and pull between Indy (Rock Chick) and Liam (Bad-Ass Extraordinaire) is very sexy!  I loved the setting, and am proud to say (or should I be slightly ashamed?) I have been to almost every locale mentioned in the book.  It's nice to have that nostalgic familiarity with a book!  And I really like a strong, independent woman as a lead character, even if she is sometimes a little too independent and doesn't always think about what she may be getting herself into...  A bit gritty, but not quite enough to be full on Urban, I think it falls somewhere between Gritty Chick Lit and Urban-lite.  I may have to check out the other titles in this series and see if they surprise me, as well.
