Another winner from America's Test Kitchen! This is another of their books that I tested by bringing home from the library, and then went out & bought because I know I'll use it over & over. These recipes were all thoroughly tested for maximum flavor--which sometimes means a little more prep (like browning the meat or sauteeing the veggies before they go into the slow cooker), but there are also plenty of recipes labeled "easy prep" where you basically just throw everything in. The Thai curry soup was just as good as takeout, the chicken/chickpea curry was fabulous, and the turkey chili that I made last weekend was great (we're going to try the tequila lime version of that one next time!). Filled with color photographs, tips on ingredients & techniques, and not your typical slow cooker recipes (casseroles, desserts, etc), this is a book that will be getting a workout this winter!
