Review

I do not give five stars lightly, but I'd rank this book up there with Larry Mc Murtry's Lonesome Dove. Let me start off by saying that I made an initial attempt to read the print book without much success. The first few pages left me a bit befuddled. Then, I downloaded the audio. That made all the difference for me. The story is rich with detail and you're bound to learn much about Texas history. What I loved most about this book was the characters. Even the "bad guys" are well-rounded. Son will stick with me for a long time.
