Review

This book just floored me. It really changed my day.

It’s a powerful collection of portraits documenting dozens of cultures around the world whose people are, for one reason or another, at risk of fading away.

Traveling across five continents and a wide array of environments, the photographer immersed himself into these isolated communities. From Ethiopia to Nepal, Papua New Guinea to Siberia, the photos uniquely capture the human spirit. Each group of people documented display their own means of survival, a distinct spirituality, and divers decorative adornment. All of this simply through an image - a moment in time.

There is something far greater here than modernity, something that outshines the gadgets and gizmos that tend to blur our experience. It’s the sense of humanity - and it is so very appealing.
