What an interesting series, I've never seen drugs used in such a blase manner. The street lingo can be a bit difficult at times but it's an easy patois if you just let your mind fuzz over and not analyze it too much. In this, the second in the Unholy Series, Chess is getting deeper into trouble. It starts out bad with an undercover mission that's not so undercover and ends in a poisoning, goes onto further complicated situations between her burgeoning friendship with Terrible and her well flourishing "relationship" with Lex and the tensions that arise thereof, to ultimately a terrible (no pun intended) climax in a graveyard. Lots of ghosts and magic and violence, chess is a compelling heroine, almost an antiheroine really. Fun, dark, easy reads.
