Review

The beautifully written stories in this collection sometimes speak to our dark side and sometimes fill us with hope for humanity. Girls held captive in a silk factory slowly become human silkworms and escape their captivity. A massage therapist helps a war veteran by manipulating the tattoos on his torso, but to what end? Objects in a seagull’s nest communicate secrets of the universe to a lonely teenager while ancient vampires in a beautiful lemon grove look for ways to slake their blood thirst. This collection is definitely not in my reading comfort zone because it is odd and fantastic, but it was interesting nonetheless. I especially enjoyed the different audiobook readers.
