Join Colorado Public Radio and Denver Public Library for a lively discussion at the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library. This unique conversation will take place between Evette Dionne, author of "Lifting As We Climb: Black Women's Battle for the Ballot Box," Colorado Matters host Chandra Thomas Whitfield and a student from Manual High School. They will discuss Dionne's book and the importance of youth involvement in civic engagement. City Clerk and Recorder Paul D. López will offer the introduction and facilitate early voter registration for voters 16 and up at the event. Free copies of the book will be given to attendees, subject to availability. This event is part of the library's Teentober programming, but all ages are welcome for this free event.
